My love for photography goes back to the disposable camera and darkroom days. I was the girl who always had a camera in her purse, documenting every imaginable moment. In high school, I would spend hours in the darkroom processing film and prints. There was such beauty and magic watching art appear before your eyes, as the photo paper soaked in the developer tray. A moment in time frozen; one that will never happen again. That is part of the reason why I love photography. Every moment is one that can never be replicated but a photo lets you hold onto a piece of that. Within that single frame, you can be reminded of a memory, a feeling, a sense of place or time. That’s the power of the pixel. It can evoke emotion or yearning to explore the unknown.

Adventure and curiosity are at the heart of everything I do. With a camera in my hand, I feel at home. Whether it’s in the photo pit at Red Rocks, the edge of the Grand Canyon or talking to stranger on the side of the road. I find a special joy in capturing that moment. Being able to not only document the fleeting beauty but getting to bring that person, place or event to someone who may never get the chance to experience it is magic in itself.
